I initially completed a PhD as a wildlife biologist in northern Sweden, with the view to making this my career. However, the stress and pressure of academic life intertwined with the side-effects of epilepsy, did not suit me well. Subsequently, this led to me developing my picture framing career. A career where I could relax my mind and be creative with my hands, and earn immense satisfaction from my work.

Having trained as a picture framer Edward wanted to not just frame pictures from pre-made mouldings but advance his skills further and design / finish his own mouldings himself. For example just some techniques he uses are painting, gilding (dutch gold), staining and distressed framing and waxed framing.

In advancing his skills with these kind of techniques it has opened up a much wider range of finishes that can better complement your pictures.
