I initially completed a PhD as a wildlife biologist in northern Sweden, with the view to making this my career. However, the stress and pressure of academic life intertwined with the side-effects of epilepsy, did not suit me well. Subsequently, this led to me developing my picture framing career. A career where I could relax my mind and be creative with my hands, and earn immense satisfaction from my work.
Having trained as a picture framer Edward wanted to not just frame pictures from pre-made mouldings but hand design and finish his own mouldings thereby creating a greater scope to complement a wider variety of pictures. For example some techniques he uses are painted, gilded (dutch gold) and limed frames, alongside stained frames, distressed frames and waxed frames, to name a few.
